On Cloud 9
Extremely happy.


There's not real consensus as to where this expression comes from. There are various theories, but at this point it's a bit irrelevant. If you imagine you are literally on the topmost of 9 clouds, you're 'on cloud 9'. I imagine the 9th cloud is the fluffiest and most confortable?

"I'm so happy you're here, I'm on cloud nine."

"He's been on cloud 9 ever since he started his dream job."
